Jeweller dragged 500 metres during robbery attempt in Ludhiana
A shocking incident took place in Ludhiana, Punjab, where a jeweller was dragged nearly 500 metres in broad daylight while attempting to stop a fleeing robber. The incident has raised serious concerns among traders in the area.
According to reports, the accused tried to steal from the jewellery shop, prompting the owner to intervene. In a brave attempt to stop the suspect, the jeweller managed to catch hold of him. However, the situation quickly escalated when the robber sped away, dragging the jeweller along the road for a considerable distance.
CCTV footage from cameras installed inside and outside the shop captured the entire sequence. The disturbing visuals show the jeweller holding onto the suspect before being pulled out onto the street and dragged, leaving him injured. The video has since gone viral on social media, triggering widespread outrage and concern.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and launched an investigation to identify and arrest the accused. Officials said they are relying on CCTV footage and other leads to track him down.
