Clashes reported in parts of UP and MP during Ambedkar Jayanti processions

Clashes and disturbances were reported in several parts of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh during Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations, including Agra, Lakhimpur Kheri, and Sidhi. Police were deployed in large numbers to bring the situation under control and restore peace.
In some areas, processions initially began peacefully but later turned tense, leading to clashes. Videos from the locations showed chaotic scenes, with security forces attempting to manage and disperse crowds.
In Agra, tensions broke out near a crowded public area during a procession, prompting a quick response from police personnel. Similar incidents were also reported from Lakhimpur Kheri, where authorities kept a close watch on sensitive locations.
The most serious incident occurred in the Amiliya area of Sidhi district in Madhya Pradesh. A procession linked to Ambedkar Jayanti reportedly turned violent, with stone-pelting incidents that left at least 14 people injured, including police personnel.
Following the violence, some members of the crowd also damaged the Amiliya police station. Additional police forces were later deployed to the area to restore order and prevent further escalation.
Authorities have stated that the situation in Sidhi is now under control, though security remains tight and restrictions have been imposed in parts of Amiliya as a precaution. Police are investigating the incident to identify those responsible and determine what led to the violence.
