“India must stay alert amid West Asia crisis”: Ram Mohan Naidu

India’s Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu has urged the country’s aviation sector to remain alert and vigilant amid the escalating crisis in West Asia, warning that airspace closures and regional instability are affecting international flight operations and passenger movement.
Amid rising tensions in the region, the minister said Indian aviation authorities and airlines are closely monitoring the situation as several international routes continue to face disruptions due to security concerns and restricted airspace. He stressed the importance of constant coordination between airlines, airports, and aviation regulators to ensure passenger safety and maintain smooth flight operations.
The ongoing conflict in parts of West Asia has forced many global carriers to reroute or suspend flights through sensitive air corridors, resulting in delays, longer travel times, and increased operational costs. Indian airlines operating services to the Gulf, Europe, and North America are also reviewing alternative routes in response to the evolving security situation.
Ram Mohan Naidu stated that India’s aviation sector must remain prepared for any sudden developments in the region. Reiterating that passenger safety is the government’s top priority, he assured that authorities are keeping a close watch on the situation and taking necessary precautions.
His remarks come at a time when several countries and international aviation agencies have issued advisories regarding travel and airspace usage in conflict-affected areas of West Asia, prompting heightened caution across the global aviation industry.
