“How to use 5 hours saved by Ganga Expressway?”: Ravish Kumar

A major infrastructure push in Uttar Pradesh has drawn attention following the inauguration of the Ganga Expressway, which has reduced travel time between Meerut and Prayagraj from about 11 hours to nearly 6 hours. The expressway marks a significant step toward better connectivity, lower fuel consumption, and increased economic activity across several districts. It is expected to make travel faster and more efficient while also easing the movement of goods, benefiting businesses and trade in the region. While the project has been widely praised, journalist Ravish Kumar stirred debate by questioning how travellers would utilize the five hours saved due to the reduced journey time. His remarks drew criticism from many who argued that the emphasis should remain on the clear advantages of improved infrastructure and faster connectivity.

“TMC cut drinking water to Baharampur slums”: Adhir Ranjan

Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has alleged that workers of the Trinamool Congress are disrupting drinking water supply to slum residents in Baharampur, claiming they suspect these residents did not support the party in elections. Chowdhury, contesting the Baharampur Assembly Constituency, said such incidents are not new and accused the ruling party of deliberately targeting those perceived to be political opponents. He alleged that economically weaker sections are being denied basic necessities due to their voting choices. Chowdhury also expressed frustration over what he described as a lack of support from within his own party, stating that he is “fighting alone” against the situation. He maintained that such actions are unjust and contribute to fear among already vulnerable communities.
