Two Foreign Nationals Die at Bengaluru’s Conrad Hotel Pool
Alexander Maximilian, 51, from Germany, and Juraj Horváth, 47, from Slovakia, died on Friday evening at the Conrad Hotel in Halasuru, Bengaluru. A US guest and an Indian pool attendant were injured while pulling them from the water but are now out of danger after treatment at Manipal Hospital. Police at Halasuru station have registered an FIR against the management and are investigating possible electrical issues with pool lighting.
Two others—Mathew Desantis, 41, an American national staying at the hotel, and Rahul Tiwari, 28, a pool attendant and lifeguard employed at the hotel—sustained injuries while attempting to rescue the victims. The injured were shifted to Manipal Hospital for treatment and are stated to be out of danger.
