Bihar ATS busts cross-border espionage module in Muzaffarpur

The Bihar Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has uncovered a suspected espionage network in Muzaffarpur district and arrested Mohammad Mustafa from Ratanpur village. Officials allege that he was involved in spying activities linked to Pakistan-based operatives.
According to investigators, Mustafa allegedly shared sensitive photographs, videos, and GPS coordinates of strategic locations through encrypted messaging applications. The information was reportedly sent to Pakistan-based arms smuggler Shahzad Bhatti with the help of his associate, Rana Hunain.
The probe began after authorities detected suspicious communications and financial transactions. During the investigation, ATS officials recovered electronic devices and other materials, which are currently being examined for further evidence.
Mustafa’s father has also been detained for questioning as agencies investigate possible funding sources and local support networks connected to the alleged espionage module.
Security agencies remain on high alert as the investigation continues. Officials have indicated that more arrests are possible while intelligence and law enforcement agencies monitor potential national security threats and examine the group’s suspected links to Pakistan. The case remains under investigation.
