“Azadi, Azadi”: Prakash Raj Leads Mass Anti-SIR Protest at Kerala
Acclaimed actor Prakash Raj led a massive protest march in Kochi, Kerala. Hundreds of activists joined the demonstration to oppose the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise. Protesters demanded the immediate cancellation of the electoral roll revision. They also called for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign from his post.
The rally began with participants carrying national flags through the city streets. Demonstrators raised strong slogans against the Election Commission throughout the route. Organizers aimed to take the movement beyond New Delhi into southern states.
Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke joined Prakash Raj during the demonstration. Prominent Malayalam film personalities also extended their full support to the event. Youth organizations participated actively in the street march alongside local activists.
The procession culminated at Rajendra Maidan for a major public rally. Addressers at the venue highlighted alleged voter deletions across multiple regions. They accused authorities of weakening democratic rights through improper revision processes. Dipke declared that the movement would continue until the nation secures an independent electoral system.
Local police deployed heavy security contingents along the entire protest route. Officers regulated traffic movement to prevent severe blockades across major intersections. The march remained peaceful without major security incidents.
This agitation follows recent detentions of CJP leaders during earlier demonstrations in New Delhi. Leaders vowed to organize larger nationwide protests in coming weeks. Organizers expect more public figures and farm leaders to join their movement soon. The agitation continues to build pressure on the Election Commission.
