Akhil Gogoi promises ID cards land pattas for Miya community &
Akhil Gogoi said that the Indian National Congress would provide identity cards and land pattas to members of the “Miya” community if it comes to power. He made the announcement while addressing an election rally.
Gogoi, the Sivasagar MLA from Raijor Dal, which is allied with the Congress, said the proposed identity cards would help community members access employment opportunities across India. He added that land pattas would be given to landless families to provide security and support their livelihoods.
Speaking to supporters, Gogoi described the proposal as part of a broader effort to assist economically vulnerable groups. He said the Congress aims to improve job access and ensure stability for those without land, particularly within the Miya community.
The remarks were made during ongoing election campaigning, with political parties outlining welfare measures and community-focused initiatives as they seek voter support.
