₹7 crore ticket claim roils congress

Gaurav Kumar, husband of Haryana Mahila Congress general secretary Suchitra Devi held a protest outside 10 Janpath this week. He claimed he paid Rs 7 crore through assistants of Congress leaders, including MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to get a party ticket for his wife.. He did not get the ticket and also did not get his money back. The claims have not been proven yet.
Videos and reports online show Kumar asking for a refund and threatening to set himself on fire. Different reports give details. Some say the ticket was for the Lok Sabha while earlier claims were about the Bawal assembly seat in Haryana.
This issue is not new. In March Kumar shared WhatsApp chats that involved assistants of many senior Congress leaders. BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari called these chats ” evidence” of corruption. He accused the Gandhi family of trying to take money. Haryana Congress president Rao Narender Singh said the claims were false. Suchitra Devi was removed from the Mahila Congress. She said she had already left. A Delhi Police FIR was also filed, according to reports.
