Pakistani Hindus seek Ramayana release in Pakistan

A Hindu man living in Pakistan has appealed to the makers of the upcoming film Ramayana to release it in the country, stating that lakhs of Hindus there want to watch it on the big screen.
In a video appeal reported this month, Moolchandani asked Sony Pictures Entertainment, the global distributor of the film, to consider releasing its English version in Pakistan. He acknowledged that strained relations between India and Pakistan could create obstacles, but emphasized that such a release would mean a great deal to the community.
The appeal drew warm responses online. Several Indian users pledged support for the request, and one Muslim user expressed a desire to see the film released in Pakistan as well, noting its global appeal and praising lead actor Ranbir Kapoor.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Yash as Ravana. The film reportedly boasts a budget of about Rs 1,600 crore and will launch in two parts during Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027.
